Maryland Man, Claudio Vizcarra, Accused of Posing as Uber Driver and Sexually Assaulting Passengers

A man from Bethesda, Maryland, is facing charges for allegedly impersonating an Uber driver and sexually assaulting women he lured into his vehicle.

Claudio Vizcarra, aged 45, has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse by the D.C. Police following separate incidents in Washington, D.C.

Court documents have revealed disturbing details about the alleged actions of Vizcarra once he had these women in his car. It is alleged that he falsely claimed to be an Uber driver, taking advantage of women who were having difficulty securing an actual Uber ride. He convinced them to enter his 2017 Honda Accord by offering to provide them with transportation to their destination without further delay.

According to the documents, Vizcarra persuaded the women to sit in the front seat alongside him, explaining that he needed to pick up other passengers as well.

Vizcarra made an appearance in D.C. Superior Court and was subsequently released on a personal recognizance bond with stringent supervision requirements.
