Woman fatally shot while riding in Uber in Atlanta

A woman was tragically shot and killed while riding in the backseat of a rideshare in Buckhead. This incident took place early Tuesday morning, around 4:30 a.m., near the intersection of Lindbergh Drive and Adina Drive. The police were alerted to the situation through two separate 911 calls.

The first call was made by a man, presumably the rideshare driver, who reported a shooting inside his vehicle. He expressed fear and urgency, stating that someone was shot and possibly killed in his car.

The second call was from a security company, acting on behalf of the individual who had booked the ride for the victim. This caller expressed concern that the woman, who was expected to arrive at her destination by 4:31 a.m., had not yet reached and the driver’s location was stationary for an unusually long time.

The victim was identified as 31-year-old Teisha Brewley by the Fulton County Medical Examiner. The Atlanta Police Department suspects that Brewley was a targeted victim in this attack. Deputy Chief Charles Hampton, Jr. noted the use of more than one firearm in the incident, and the involvement of multiple vehicles, including a potential light-colored sedan.

The incident may be related to another shooting that occurred near Buford Highway and Lenox Road, which investigators are currently examining.
